A Unique Approach to Creating Your Internet Presence
Everything in the 21st Century seems to be focused on the World Wide Web... the Internet. Printed media, such as newspapers and magazines, are seeing their circulation shrink as consumers are looking for more immediate, relevant information; the US Postal Service is seeing its revenues from bulk advertising mailings fall as businesses abandon traditional mailed flyers and advertising. If a business relies on the turnaround time required to communicate with its customers using printed media, that business runs the risk that the communication wil l be stale, irrelevant or “old news” by the time it reaches their customers.
Likewise, customers today rely on the Internet to search for new products and places in which they can invest their money and time, whether it’s a new restaurant they want to try, or a new business just starting out, an established business that is seeking new clients, or the newest technology gadget to make their lives simpler. They no longer pull out the Yellow Pages to look for a business category... instead, they use search engines like Google, Yahoo or Bing, or specialized sites like Yelp, LinkedIn, Angie’s List and many others to search for what they require. They even use the social networking sites like FaceBook and Twitter to locate a business and to find opinions on products and services. In short, if a business has no “presence” on the Internet, there is a huge chance that a potential customer will pass you by... it’s a missed opportunity.
The reliance on the Internet has created a new phenomenon where it seems everybody and anybody is offering to either create a website for you or give you simple tools to do so yourself. More often than not, custom website development is expensive and, often, the end result is dictated more by the designer than by what the business wants or needs. On the other hand, while some companies (like many companies that offer inexpensive website hosting) offer simple tools to create your own site, the sites created are often amateurish and simplistic, and the end result reflects poorly on your business.
